About this calculator

Enter the loan amount, the interest rate per year and the term in years. The calculator shows the constant monthly payment, how much interest you pay in total and how the remaining debt falls year by year. It is a sample calculation with a nominal rate – fees, special repayments and the effective rate are not included.

How it is calculated

Monthly payment = loan × i ÷ (1 − (1 + i)^−n) with i = rate ÷ 12 ÷ 100 and n = years × 12. Interest each month = remaining debt × i; the rest of the payment reduces the debt.
